AWANA stands for "Approved Workman Are Not Ashamed" and comes from II Timothy 2:15. "Do your best to present yourself to God as one approved, a workman who does not need to be ashamed and who correctly handles the word of truth". Our AWANA Club is chartered with the International AWANA Youth Association and offers a series of clubs, each geared to the needs of a particular age or grade. Our goal is to reach children with the gospel of Christ and to train them to serve Him. Our clubs, 3 years old through 8th grade, meet each Wednesday night during the school year at 6:15pm. The High School club meets once a month and is directed by Rebecca Wanker.

Our children are invited to participate in the first part of the Worship Service, but before the sermon, are excused to attend their own service. Children's church is a popular format among our kids because our leaders believe that learning, worship, church and Christianity in general doesn't have to be boring. This is a time of teaching, singing and crafts. Children from Kindergarten to 2nd grade are welcome. |

God's purpose for His Church is that we are to be conformed to the image of HIs Son. We believe that one of the ways this can be accomplished is through the study of His Word. Women's Bible Study meets once a week with the following goals. To increase knowledge of the Bible through daily study and discussion in the group. To develop a personal, daily prayer time and participation in group prayer. To form a bond of unity through fellowship with others. To apply the principles and truths in daily life. These goals are accomplished through the study of books of the Bible, Biblical topics and study books. |

On the First Sunday night of the month, September to May, at 6:00pm, we join together as families for a supper snack, praise and worship and activities for the entire family. We have an annual Variety Show, Valentine's Day celebration, Christmas party, decorate cookies, play games and decorate the church for Christmas. Each month a family and a single are chosen, interviewed and share their prayer needs. As a group, we commit to pray for them during that month. If you like to be with your family and other families of the Church, this is an event that you will want to attend. |

Proverbs 27:17 "Iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another". North Valley offers a wide range of opportunities for men to follow this principle found in Proverbs. On a weekly basis, there are groups that meet to build friendships and learn scriptural principles through topical and Biblical studies. Something is happening to the men in America. They're changing and looking for more out of life than mediocre relationships and daily ruts. To accomplish this NVBC has prayer breakfasts', work days at the Church, trips to Promise Keepers and each spring a retreat beginning with dinner on Friday evening and closing with communion on Saturday night. We invite you to contact one of the deacons or the church office to find out more information. |
